West Coast Ports . Seattle
A well preserved example of one of the older (1904) steam-powered lightships. It is also an example of irresponsible curatorship. LV-83/WAL-508 was never named Swiftsure Bank, but spent its entire working life as the Blunts Reef, San Francisco, and Relief lightship. It was probably stationed on Swiftsure Bank briefly when it was the Relief. (I happened to be on the decommisioning crew on Yerba Buena Island in 1960.)
